The 2008 fishing season is upon us! I hope everyone has had a chance to enjoy the great outdoors. We’ve had some excellent night reports from the Gulf Coast this year. In the Carolinas they have been into Stripers, and of course as always, our Green Fishinglights have been working fantastic on the Crappie.

Last year we had some excellent opportunities to travel around the Texas coast for night fishing in many bays and coastal hot spots. One of our most exciting trips was with the Texas Parks and Wildlife folks to film night fishing fun for broadcast via PBS in Texas and other outlets from New Mexico to New York. The days of Summer are hot, and so is the Salt Water fishing. There have been many reports of successful offshore fishing trips for several species including, but not limited to, Red Snapper, Yellow and Black Fin Tuna as well as Amberjack. The bays of the Gulf Coast are also be heating up. Trout and Redfish have been "turned on" with the higher water temperature.

For those of you already using Green Fishinglights, you know how enjoyable they are to watch.  Kicking back in the evening on your boat, or around the dock, beverage in hand, with family and friends watching the bait swarm in the gentle green glow of the fishing lights, you know all is well. Using the lights around your dock really improves the ambiance.  They have a very soothing effect. Even the non-fishing observers will enjoy the event.  It just doesn’t get any better!

For 2008 we continue with ALL of our current line of products. We have worked hard to keep our prices steady, but it looks like shipping costs just keep going up. Watch out for modest price increases in late August. If you have been "on the fence" about getting a light, now is the best time!

If you are new to night fishing, check out FirstLight. It is a sealed unit and is only available with a 24-inch green fluorescent tube and 15-foot power cord.   FirstLight uses the same high quality components used in all our lights, but sells at a lower cost.  A removable weight system, like those on the "Pro Series" is available.  This has been a VERY popular light.

We enjoy showing them on the site and in new screen savers our webmaster has been making for distribution. If you have any questions we will do our best to get you an answer as quick as possible. When night fishing, remember SAFETY FIRST! Check the weather before leaving port and know the area. Things look a lot different when the sun goes down.  Tight lines to all and have a great 2008.
